Description

Aerides leeana [syn. jarckiana]

Endemic to the Philippines, these are a rather uncommon orchid. They are moderate-sized that have a lovely pendant inflorescence with many fragrant flowers. The flowers look waxy, are long-lived and occur in the winter-spring. We grow them with our cattleyas and they love it; it’s warm and bright. We’ve read that they’re fragrant, but it’s not strong like other Aerides species can be. The flowers are waxy and long-lasting.

We bought a flask of six in 2008, and you can see the mass they’ve grown into.

We’re selling bareroot cuttings (with good roots) from this mass. The cuttings are typically 18” tall.
