Dinema polybulbon

Dinema is a monotypic genus. These have most recently been called Epidendrum polybulbon and Encyclia polybulbon. This is a wonderful miniature creeping orchid native to Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala and Honduras. We grow them both in pots and mounted on cork in intermediate light levels; all do well. The flowers are long-lasting, are pretty little things, and actually quite large for the plant. A local artist made silver casts from one of our blossoms for necklaces and charms – delightful!
