Description

Angraecum sesquipedale ‘Big Sky Star’ x self

The KING OF ORCHIDS!!! Its common names include “The Star of Bethlehem” (because they tend to bloom around Christmas), “Darwin’s Orchid” (he theorized that it is pollinated by a moth with a REALLY long proboscis) and “The Comet Orchid” (due to its shape and long nectary). It is a warm-growing species from Madagascar and is delightfully fragrant at night. This is from our breeding program.
