Description

Aerangis kirkii

This species was described and named Angraecum biloba var. kirkei in 1862. It was renamed Aerangis kirkii, and its history indicates that biloba and kirkii are considered to be quite similar. Based on our plants, Aergs. kirkii has thinner leaves that often look a bit wrinkly. It produces fewer, but larger, flowers per inflorescence than Aergs. biloba. Both species require warm conditions, a shaded location and a bit of a dry resting period after blooming. The first Aerangis kirkii was found in Tanzania. It is also endemic to Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa.

The blooming-sized division shown in Brenda’s hand is representative of what you’ll receive.
