Description

Microcoelia exilis

Microcoelia exilis is a leafless orchid with many tiny flowers borne amid a tangle of roots. Relatively widespread, these can be found from Kenya to KwaZulu-Natal South Africa and in southern Madagascar. It is a true twig epiphyte: an occasional root or two might attach to its host to stabilize its growth but the vast majority of the plant thrives in moist open air. We have our plants mounted on manzanita branches and cork with no pad or moisture-absorbing material of any kind. We also have them just hanging in the air! Microcoelia exilis seems to prefer intermediate light levels; ours get eastern light. Excellent water quality is critical and frequent application is a necessity if you want to grow it well.

You will receive a BARE ROOT blooming-sized division.
