Description
Eurychone rothschildianum
These are an interesting African orchid that, when out of bloom, looks like a Phalaenopsis. What sets the foliage apart are the wavy-edged leaves—very striking looking! Not only do the plants look like a Phalaenopsis, but they can also be grown like a Phalaenopsis; in intermediate to warm conditions in moderate light. The flowers are very different looking though and, like most angraecoids, they have a wonderful (spicy) fragrance. We’ve grown these on plaques and in pots. One interesting note for Ang. fans; these used to be called Angraecum rothschildianum.
