Cattleya longipes

Cattleya longipes (fmr.) Laelia lucasiana
This is one of the rupicolous laelias; found growing on rock in its native habitat in Brasil. These should be grown in free-draining medium. Water well, but allow it to dry between watering in the growing season. In the winter they appreciate a cooler dryer treatment. Some of our favorite hybrids have this in their background.
