Description

Angraecum arachnites

(Fmr: Angraecum ramosum var. arachnites)

Endemic to Madagascar. Our experience with this species began with plants imported from their country of origin. Second-generation plants (like this one) seem much easier! We mount them on cork with a coconut pad and nestle them into Spanish moss growing on vertical screens. The plants in direct contact with the moss seem to do best. This would indicate that they do not want to dry out. Fred Hillerman noted that potting also works well though we have not tried this method. Intermediate temperature and lower light seem to make these happy.

The NBS plant in Brenda’s hand is typical of what you’ll receive.
