Tillandsia edithae

Native to Bolivia, T. edithae produces “pups” at its base and along the stem. With crimson red blooms and quick growing roots it is a very beautiful species. It is a xeric or dry growing species; its leaves are covered in scales or hairs (trichomes) that collect water and nutrients for the plant. It needs bright light at least part of the day. Avoid damp dark conditions!
