Maxillaria variabilis ‘Grace’ - yellow flowers with a shiny burgandy spot on the lip

 Maxillaria variabilis ‘Grace’
These are great little plants rather widespread in South America. Ours are in bloom more often than they’re out of bloom (which is always a bonus!). It’s called variabilis because the color of the flowers in this species ranges from white to yellow to a deep magenta-purple. The flowers also have a nice, light fragrance. We grow them both potted and mounted with excellent results.
