Aerangis umbonata has lovely two-tone flowers with long nectaries. Lovely plants!

 Aerangis fuscata
Here’s another Aerangis with confusion surrounding its name/identity. The correct name is fuscata, but it is often seen as Aerangis umbonata. We imported some of each name from Madagascar in 2008...and the plants are nothing alike. The ones called umbonata look like this; like one we got from Fred Hillerman in the 80s called umbonata (also likely brought in from Madagascar). They are miniature; with a blooming sized plant being 2" to 2-1/2"across. The flowers are nothing short of SPECTACULAR!

Many plants sold as Aerangis fuscata are in fact Aerangis spiculata; a much larger plant with the "birds in flight" flowers.
