Epidendrum schlechterianum
     These are miniature “creeping” orchids with flowers that are formed very close to the foliage. It almost looks like a beetle walking over the plant! Large “mats” of the plant are neat to see. They are native to Panama, growing in warm, shaded locations. When grown in “captivity”, they seem best grown on plaques and like frequent watering (but must be allowed to dry between waterings). Great plants.
