Epidendrum
schlechterianum
These are miniature
creeping orchids with flowers that are formed very close to
the foliage. It almost looks like a beetle walking over the plant! Large
mats of the plant are neat to see. They are native to Panama,
growing in warm, shaded locations. When grown in captivity,
they seem best grown on plaques and like frequent watering (but must be
allowed to dry between waterings). Great plants.
